Rotary Provides Youth Service Experience

Guest speaker Erik Engel, a social worker from Addison Trail, explained the power of harnessing youthful energy through a Rotary-sponsored club, Interact.  Interact is supported by the Rotary club of Addison, and it gives students the opportunity to provide service to the community. 

Engel gave examples of how the club was instrumental in helping residents after the flooding last year in Addison.  He said that the students enjoyed paying forward good deeds to the community.  The club focuses on teaching teens the value of service.

Engel will be transferring to Willowbrook next year and is interested in starting an Interact Club at the high school.
